Speaking at the event, Pesoshin welcomed participants of the forum on behalf of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
"Our republic is once again hosting leaders and specialists of the oil, gas and chemical enterprises of Russia and the CIS countries, as well as world's leading companies," Prime Minister of the republic said.
Pesoshin noted that Russian and foreign scientists, oil workers, geologists, heads of branch ministries and oil regions of the country are among the forum participants.
This year the forum is timed to the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Petrochemical Company. "The big oil of Tatarstan gave a powerful impetus to the development of the petrochemical industry of our country. The construction of the first commissioning and start-up complex of the chemical plant started on the banks of the Kama River in 1963 and four years later the company manufactured its first products. Today, Nizhnekamskneftekhim is one of the leading enterprises of the domestic petrochemical industry," Pesoshin said.
The agenda of the Tatarstan Oil, Gas and Chemical Forum grows every year, he stressed. All technical universities of the country have been involved in its work this year, an exposition dedicated to the processing of plastics and environmental issues has been expanded as well.
"I am sure that the forum will be of interest to all its participants and will help establish new business ties," Pesoshin added.
In his turn Filatkin noted that the oil, gas and chemical industry is one of the key industry segments in the republic. "A number of enterprises engaged in the production of primary polymers are successfully functioning here. Nizhnekamskneftekhim, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, is among them," he said.
Filatkin wished all participants of the forum fruitful work and successful implementation of joint projects.
Then Pesoshin handed in diplomas to winners of the contest held as part of the forum for the best exhibit, project or technical solution.
After the opening ceremony, the honoured guests got acquainted with expositions of international industry exhibitions, where participating companies presented their modern materials, equipment and technologies for oil refining and petrochemistry.
