Rustam Minnikhanov: LUKOIL Company is our strategic partner

On September 27, at the Governor’s Palace in the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and President of LUKOIL Company Vagit Alekperov, who is on a working visit in Kazan, signed a protocol to the cooperation agreement between the republic and LUKOIL Company for 2017.

Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic Albert Karimov, Director General of Tatneft Oil Company Nail Maganov and other officials took part in a meeting between Minnikhanov and Alekperov after the signing ceremony.

Welcoming the guests, Minnikhanov noted that the republic is closely following all the processes that are taking place in LUKOIL Company. According to him, innovative methods of oil production, organization of the oil production process, use of new technologies are of special interest.

Minnikhanov reminded that the Agreement on cooperation between the republic and LUKOIL Company was signed 10 years ago. He offered to create a working group to prepare a new text of the document taking into account the new reality and tasks, LUKOIL and Tatarstan are facing today.

"LUKOIL is our strategic partner. The company is also a strategic partner for Tatneft Oil Compant. The work that is being done together with our colleagues is now yielding results," he said.

Minnikhanov also thanked Alekperov and LUKOIL Company for participation in the implementation of social and cultural projects implemented in the republic. "We would like to thank you for supporting our programmes, including social mortgage, projects related to the revival of cultural and historical values.  Words of gratitude and best wishes for further joint work is the only thing I can say,” Minnikhanov said, in particular.
