Rustam Minnikhanov visits innovation centers of Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh

President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has acquainted with the project “Intelligent Workplace Lab” at the school of architecture of Carnegie Mellon University (USA, Pittsburgh).
The Tatarstan President was accompanied by Tatarstan’s Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of informatization and communications Roman Shaikhutdinov, rector of the Kazan (Volga) Federal University Ilshat Gafurov and others.
To the point, Rustam Minnikhanov is on a business trip in Pittsburgh to learn about activity of Carnegie Mellon University and its research centers (September 4-5, 2012).
“Intelligent Workplace Lab” occupies 630 m² and represents a lived-in laboratory that sits atop the academic building of the university. The laboratory deals with research and innovations in the sphere of design of workplaces. Such researches are meant to improve life of many office workers due to creation of personal comfort and increase of productivity.
Members of the Tatarstan delegation were told about modern principles of design and construction, including balanced architecture and design, approaches to energy saving, maximum use of daylight for the workplace, decrease of costs and negative impact on the environment.
Director of the school of architecture Donald Carter told about projects on planning new cities and districts. Projects of Carnegie Mellon University have been implemented in India, Russia, notably the Moscow region and Novokuznetsk.
Guests were also told about changes faced by Pittsburgh since 30s of the last century.
Carnegie Science Center is one of four Carnegie museums in Pittsburgh. It was opened in 1991 and now represents an entertainment interactive park. There are about 30 interactive areas for children of different ages located on five floors of the center. The world’s largest exhibition of robotics can be seen here as well.
On November 5, speaking at the Government House of the republic at a regional video-conference held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov with participation of Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin, First Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Aleksey Frolov reported that to date, as many as 2 million 954 thousand square meters of housing have been commissioned in Tatarstan.
On November 27, at their meeting in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank Olga Golodets discussed the issues of the introduction of Sber digital products in the healthcare sector of Tatarstan.
On November 25, at their meeting in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Director General of the Fund for the Protection of Citizens' Rights - Shared Construction Participants Konstantin Timofeev discussed the completion of the construction of problematic shared construction facilities in Tatarstan.
On October 28, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov chaired a regular board meeting of Tatneft Oil Company, to sum up the results of the company's budget execution for the 9 month of the current year and to approve budget amounts for October of 2020.
