President of Tatarstan meets with DSM Director General

The Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Director General and Board chairman of the Dutch company DSM Feike Sijbesma have discussed prospects of cooperation and opportunities of realizing new joint projects at the RT Government House.

The Tatarstan Minister of agriculture and foodstuff Marat Akhmetov, Deputy chairman of the RF State Duma committee for industry Irek Boguslavsky, Director General of OAO “Grid company” Ilshat Fardiev, Director General of ZAO “Agrosila group” Ildar Gimadeev, DSM President for Russia and CIS Vladimir Bongard were present at the meeting.

By the way, DSM plant producing high-quality premixes (vitamin feed mixtures for the livestock industry) opened in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny last year in June.

Feike Sijbesma thanked Ilshat Fardiev who once suggested investing in Tatarstan.

Mr Sijbesma presented the company and told about most advanced projects which can be realized in Tatarstan. The company has wide experience of working in different spheres. Being the world’s biggest producer of feed mixtures, DSM produces food, pharmaceuticals, develops biotechnologies, and petrochemical produce.

Mr Sijbesma said he is willing to cooperate with Tatarstan in the mentioned industries. He also noted that in general, Holland is committed to cooperation with Russia. 2013 was announced the Year of friendship between the two countries.

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Feike Sijbesma for kind words saying that DSM had fulfilled a good deal of work in Tatarstan. “The state-of-the-art plant was built for a short period of time. It’s the step you made in republic. The domain of your business is diversified and wide,” the Tatarstan President said. He noted that cooperation with the Dutch company is of special interest in terms of development of the Special Economic Zone “Alabuga”. Other prospective lines are cooperation with KAMAZ and other engineering enterprises, production of composite materials, and grain processing.
