Rustam Minnikhanov approves text of Tatarstan's anthem

(Kazan, March 20, Tatar-inform). The national anthem of Tatarstan, whose music is composed by Rustem Yakhin, has gained lyrics. President of Tatarstan has signed amendments to the related law, approving an anthem’s text.

The draft law was passed by the Tatarstan’s State Council on 21 February.

A special commission worked on the anthem for longer than one year. The final version is based on a poem Tugan Yagim (Native Land), in the 1970es written by Ramazan Baitemirov. Many authors took part in elaborating on the lyrics. It had been the Baitemirov’s poem that had in his time inspired Rustem Yakhin to compose a song, whose melody became the national anthem of Tatarstan.
