The Russian government approved an increase in insurance compensation on bank deposits from 700 thousand rubles up to 1 million rubles.

The minister said that the need to increase the insurance indemnity is due to the depreciation of the sum insured due to inflation, as well as the state will to give additional incentive to increase public confidence in the banks.

Anton Siluanov said that the government approval the draft law also aims to reduce the interest rates on deposits and loans.
