Minister of Finance considers a switch to hourly rate wages

Anton Siluanov, Minister of Finance of Russian Federation, considers a switch from monthly to hourly rate wages, says Interfax.

There is a number of public sectors that work part-time, whilst paying average salaries, like the industries that have more working hours. “What would be fair in this situation? I think this is the right question”, - said the minister.

Talking about the opportunities for a minimum wage increase, Siluanov stated that the increase can only be considered after formulating the priorities – whether it would be a social support or an obligation for businesses to increase the minimum salary.
