The Eurasian Economic Commission’s council meets in Kazan

VIII meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission’s (EEC) council was held in Kazan, involving Igor Shuvalov, First Deputy Prime Minister of Russian Federation, Viktor Khristenko, Chairman of EES’ Board, and Kazakhstan and Belarus governments’ representatives.

The commission’s purpose is to support Single Economic Space and Customs Union development and to suggest further integration directions.

Being a supranational authority, EEC pursues the interests of the Eurasian community in general, not any national interests.

The meeting’s participants discussed Single Economic Space and Customs Union issues. Earlier, they visited the ancient city of Bolgar. The delegations will also meet with Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Tatarstan, states his press service.
