“We have always been proud of our enormous natural resources, and their sale in foreign markets is the main source of replenishment of the treasury and budget of our country, with all its pros and cons. Of course we are trying to avoid dependence on exports of hydrocarbons and make the economic structure more balanced and stable. However, mineral resources sector will be one of the most important sources of the country’s development. Most importantly, it can create the demand for high technologies and modern equipment that will help using our natural resources reasonably and minimize harmful environmental impact,” Dmitry Medvedev said.
