Rustam Minnikhanov: “Ammoni” project is a good example of realization of a big investment project with participation of our Chinese partners

On May 12, Interim President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met Chairman of Chinese National Chemical Engineering Corporation Yu Jinbo at Government House of the republic.
“Russia-China relations are now rapidly developing and have the character of strategic partnership,” Minnikhanov said. He noted that Yu Jinbo took part in festive celebrations in Moscow on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Victory in WWII.
A number of agreements aimed at strengthening of cooperation between two countries were signed during high-level negotiations.
“Tatarstan intensively works with China. The next project to be implemented in the republic is construction of Haier home appliance plant,” Minnikhanov said.
Speaking about construction of Ammoni plant in Mendeleevsk region, Minnikhanov said that this project is important for the republic and the whole country and it is a good example of realization of a big investment project with participation of our Chinese partners.
Yu Jinbo expressed his gratitude to Rustam Minnikhanov, Cabinet of Ministers of the republic and managers of Ammoni company for their support rendered during construction of the plant. It will be the starting point of long-term cooperation between Russia and China, he added.
Yu Jinbo continued that under developing relations between China and Russia Chinese businessmen are hoping for long-term cooperation with Tatarstan and Russia in chemical, oil and gas industries. Chinese chemical industry has now reached the level where many enterprises are ready to expand their production in other regions and Chinese Government supports these projects.
“We are willing to discuss the opportunity of transferring our production facilities to Tatarstan. If the regional government approves this idea, we will render assistance in examining Chinese chemical industry,” Yu Jinbo said.
He invited Rustam Minnikhanov to company headquarters in Beijing.
In his turn, Minnikhanov suggested creating a working group on examining Chinese chemical enterprises that may open their branches in Tatarstan.
