21 September 2015, Monday
On September 21, at Tatarstan Government House, Acting Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov met Kuwaiti officials.

Khalikov stressed that partnership relations between Tatarstan and Kuwait have progressed since 2008. However, the amount of trade leaves much to be desired, amounting to 64.2 thousand US dollars in the first six months of the current year, he continued.

Khalikov noted the visit should give a new impetus to the successful long-term cooperation between the two republics, and thanked the delegates for willingness to increase trade, economic and investment cooperation with Tatarstan.

He told the guests about the industrial and investment potential of the republic.

“Tatarstan has strong oil and mechanical engineering industries. Twenty five percent of the economy is accounted for by oil recovery, 30 by petrochemistry. Besides, we manufacture Kamaz trucks, Ford cars, Mi-8/17 helicopters, ships, compressors and much more,” Khalikov added.

He went on to speak about Tatarstan’s innovative projects, including Innopolis satellite campus.

The parties also discussed the most promising areas of cooperation between Tatarstan and Kuwait: hospitality business, aircraft making, mechanical engineering, supplies of oil and gas recovery equipment, and others.

Summing up, Ildar Khalikov greeted those present on the upcoming Kurban Bairam holiday.
