Tatarstan President meets Qatar Minister of economy and commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Mohamed Al Thani

On December 7, at his meeting with Qatar Minister of economy and commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Mohamed Al Thani during his official visit to Doha, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that their last meeting was held at the Annual investment forum in Dubai this year, when they discussed perspective areas of cooperation between Tatarstan and Qatar in the context of Russia-Qatar relations.

Among the most perspective areas Minnikhanov mentioned oil and gas industry, joint projects in energy sector, supplies of products of KAMAZ PTC truck manufacturer, OAO “Kazan helicopters”, OAO Kazancompressormash (Kazan Compressor-Building Plant), Nizhnekamskneftekhim PTC ( a petrochemical company headquartered in the city of Nizhnekamsk, in the Tatarstan Republic), cooperation in IT industry, and agriculture.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Bolgar Historical and Archaeological Complex was inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List in Doha last year.

Ahmed bin Jassim Mohamed Al Thani expressed his wish to visit Bolgar, and that he was very glad at strengthening relations with Tatarstan.  

Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov invited the Qatar delegation to Tatarstan.
