On the 8th of March Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated women on the International women’s day.

“Dear women! I congratulate you on International women’s day of the 8th of March! This holiday has become traditional in the life of our multi-ethnic people. It is the celebration of love, beauty and maternity. Since our childhood this holiday has been filled with warmth and light. When we are young we celebrate this holiday as mother’s and grandmother’s day. When we become older it is the holiday of our beloved wives and friends, daughters and granddaughters. A lot of famous philosophers, poets, composers, artists and scientists declared their love for women. The International women’s day unites us regardless of nationality, religion and position in the society. It praises human values, respect to a woman, and the meaning of maternity and traditional family values.

In Tatarstan, women have always played an important role in the life of the society, and we try to create all necessary conditions for their development and self-fulfillment. We are so happy for those whose talents and skills helped them to achieve good results in education, science, business, culture and public administration. We are grateful to women who work in industrial and agricultural sectors for their contribution to the development of their republic.

We express special gratitude to our veterans, who went through hardships during WWII.
