On September 22, at Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov had a meeting with representatives of Mitsubishi Heavt Industries (Japan).
Welcoming the guests in Kazan, Khalikov noted that Tatarstan is actively cooperating with the Japanese business. A lot of Japanese companies are represented and successfully developing in the republic, he said.
Khalikov reminded that on August 8 the Tatarstan-Japan business forum with the participation of Special Advisor to Prime Minister of Japan Eiichi Hasegawa was held in Kazan. This week the 6th Russia-Japan AdvisoryCouncilon Modernization of the Russian Economy, which discussed prospects of cooperation, took place in the capital of Tatarstan.
According to him, Tatarstan is closely working with the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in several areas, including petrochemicals, construction, education and so on. At the moment, the main project is the development of the Ammonium plant for the production of fertilizers. Khalikov added that in February this year during his working visit to Tokyo Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov signed a memorandum of intent on the Ammonium-2 project.
Then, the meeting considered different options for further development of relations. In particular, the Japanese company's management presented new solutions for the development of power engineering industry of the republic.
Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic Albert Karimov, Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina and other officials took part in the meeting.
