Aleksey Pesoshin has a meeting with trade union activists of the republic

On May 3, at his meeting with trade union activists of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that last year, per capita income amounted to 32,800 roubles a month in Tatarstan.

Opening the meeting, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic Tatyana Vodopyanova said that one of the main topics for today is the issue of wages. According to the results of 2016, the average monthly salary amounted to more than 33,000 roubles in the republic, which is 17.2 per cent lower than the national average. According to statistics, workers of agro-industrial complex, forestry, textile and clothing industry receive the least salary.

Measures for temporary employment of young people and introducing young professionals into production activities continue to be taken in the republic ("Youth Policy" and "The First Workplace").

Speaking about labour safety, Vodopyanova said that for the period from 2014 to 2016 the level of industrial injuries decreased by a quarter in the republic. At enterprises, where primary trade union committees were set up, the number of fatal accidents decreased by two times, the number of emergencies with severe consequences reduced by 40 per cent.

Last year was quite complicated, but despite this, Tatarstan managed to maintain its leading position among Russian regions on main socio-economic indicators, Pesoshin said in his turn. Much attention was paid to the issues of pricing for socially important products in the republic.  This work resulted in a low level of inflation – 103.9 per cent.
