Rustam Minnikhanov: KazanSummit helps us to work out mechanisms of interaction with Islamic business

On May 19, at a plenary session of the 9th international economic summit “Russia-the Islamic world: KazanSummit 2017”, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that we are trying to work out mechanisms of interaction with Islamic business, and KazanSummit plays an important role in this process.

Before the session, Rustam Minnikhanov and other distinguished guests looked around the exhibition organized at Korston hotel. Representatives of regional enterprises told about the ir experience of cooperation with OIC countries. The project of Bolgar Islamic Academy was also presented there, and rector of Kazan Federal University Ilshat Gafurov told about the international coordination center «Islamica» that was established at Kazan Federal University.

In his welcoming speech, Rustam Minnikhanov said that politicians and businessmen, public and religious figures, scientists and young people from different countries , everyone who is interested in  expansion of economic cooperation between Russia and Muslim countries, gather at one place.

Tatarstan President expressed his gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and State Duma for assistance in organization of the forum.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the forum programme comprises different events, panel discussions, seminars, conferences, roundtables and meetings.

The 3d session of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia-the Islamic world” that is has been headed by Rustam Minnikhanov by the order of Russian President Vladimir Putin since 2014 had finished in Grozny before the summit.
