Address of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on the occasion of the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan

Dear citizens of Tatarstan!

With all my heart I congratulate you on the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan – the main national holiday of Tatarstan! Due to joint efforts we have built an effective market economy, provided worthy social standards and wide political freedoms, created conditions for encouragement and realization of people’s initiatives.

Tatarstan’s success consists in rich heritage of previous generations, creative work of citizens and support of projects and initiatives of the republic by the federal center, first of all, Russian President Vladimir Putin. Today Tatarstan is among leading regions of the Russian Federation. We are implementing large-scale investment projects in petrochemical, oil, engineering, energy and IT spheres, developing achievements in agricultural sector, and creating new high technology enterprises. Economic growth enables dealing with priority tasks in the sphere of science, education, health and social services.  

Much emphasis is put on the development of the system of professional education, and preparation for Worldskills – 2019. Development of public spaces favours the formation of comfortable environment and establishment of new culture in human relations.

Successful holding of FIFA Confederation Cup was a bright prelude to the forthcoming FIFA World Cup 2018.Kazan won the right to host short course world championship in 2022.

The inscription of the Dormition Cathedral and Monastery of the island town of Sviyazhsk in UNESCO World Heritage List demonstrated the recognition of major efforts on the preservation of historical and cultural heritage and world universal value.

Development of state confessional relations is aimed at the revival of spirituality and traditional values. The preparation for the opening of Bolgar Islamic Academy is nearly finished; reconstruction of the Kazan Cathedral is underway.

The third congress of peoples of the republic and sixth congress of the World congress of Tatars demonstrated high level of interethnic concord and ethno-cultural development.

Dear friends!  Today Tatarstan provides proper conditions for work and life. It makes Tatarstan citizens be proud of their republic, attracts investors and tourists.

We are united by ardent love to the republic, reverential attitude to small motherland, that city, village where you were born, commitment to Motherland, the great Russia.

These feelings have always been the basis of our social optimism and prosperity of native Tatarstan.
