Anton Siluanov commented on the decision of Fitch’s rating of Russia

The Finance Ministry welcomes the decision by Fitch on the Outlook on the sovereign rating of the country and considers it a recognition of the stability of the Russian economy, told the first Vice-Premier, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov.

International rating Agency Fitch has maintained its rating of Russia to «BBB-» with positive Outlook, following a review. The Agency said strong balance sheet, robust external finances and a credible macroeconomic policy of the Russian Federation.

«We welcome the decision by rating Agency Fitch to maintain a positive Outlook on the sovereign rating of Russia. In terms of volatility in emerging markets, accompanied by constant threats to intensify the sanctions pressure on Russia, the decision of the Agency is recognition of the stability of our economy to external shocks and a high quality assessment of macroeconomic regulation in the Russian Federation», — he said.

As strengthening investors ‘ confidence in the stability and sustainability of the Russian economy will improve and the country’s sovereign rating, for this purpose there are all preconditions, he said.
