On September 25, in the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and President of LUKOIL Company Vagit Alekperov signed a protocol to the cooperation agreement of 2010 between the republic and the oil company, which envisages strengthening the production potential and improving the investment climate of Tatarstan and also supporting projects aimed at socio-economic development of the republic.
The LUKOIL has been holding a contest of social and cultural projects in Tatarstan since 2010. The contest received almost 5,500 projects in just eight years and more than 1,100 projects became winners. The total amount of grants to support civil initiatives amounted to about 200 million roubles.
As many as 610 applications were submitted to the competition commission in Tatarstan this year. The grant fund amounted to 25 million roubles.
A meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tatarstan Aleksey Shishkin.
