Aleksey Pesoshin: Today, any financial transaction is conducted through your department

On January 28, at the Galiaskar Kamal Tatar Academic Theatre, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a solemn event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Treasury Department of the Ministry of Finance of the republic.

Speaking at the event, Pesoshin stressed that when a new department was established, other regions of the country had little experience in treasury activities. At the same time, there was a clear understanding of the need of the establishment of a treasury system. “Today, any financial transaction is conducted through your department. You ensure the order of state and municipal finances, control over the targeted use of budgetary funds and create a reliable information base for making effective management decisions,” the Prime Minister said.

He noted that due to large-scale introduction of information technology, a transparent procurement system was set up. Every day, the employees of the Treasury Department authorize planned purchases to confirm cost effectiveness, the availability of a limit and sufficient funding sources.

Pesoshin noted that a clear control system ensures efficient and uninterrupted funding both for the implementation of all regional programmes for the construction and repair of social and cultural facilities and holding major events.

The Treasury Department continues to make various initiatives to streamline processes supported by the leadership of the republic, the Prime Minister noted. He particularly noted the modernization of approaches to supplying food for socially important facilities and the current transition to a unified accounting and payroll system.

“On behalf of the Tatarstan President and personally, I want to thank you for your work for the benefit of our republic. I wish you further professional growth, perseverance in solving important state tasks, as well as good health to you and your families,” Pesoshin added.

Then, the Prime Minister of the republic awarded the most distinguished employees of the Department.
