Rustam Minnikhanov: Traffic safety ensuring has to do with each of us

26 December 2012, Wednesday
“Safety control of passenger transportations by suburban and intercity transport must be enhanced,” the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said at a session of the RT Cabinet on issues of realization of the federal targeted program “Increasing traffic safety in 2006-2012”. The session was held by Tatarstan’s PM Ildar Khalikov in video conference format with participation of all municipal regions.

Rustam Minnikhanov suggested making up a rating of auto schools to see which of them train drivers that cause most accidents on republican roads.

President of Tatarstan also asked to put much emphasis on training drivers for public city transport. “We should not see occasional people here, since safety of passengers depends on their professional skills,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

“Traffic safety ensuring has to do with each of us, not only employees of the Ministry of the interior and the Department of State Traffic Safety Inspectorate. We also have to pay attention to maintenance of speed rate and improve driving culture,” Rustam Minnikhanov noted.
