Tatarstan and Indonesian Chambers of Commerce and Industry agree on cooperation

On May 2 during the visit of Tatarstan delegation to Indonesia, Tatarstan and Indonesian Chambers of Commerce and Industry signed an Agreement on mutual understanding  in Jakarta. 

The roundtable session was organised for Tatarstan and Indonesian businessmen to discuss perspective areas of economic cooperation. Opening the event, Chairman of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Suryo Sulisto said that Indonesia and Russia are rapidly developing countries. He continued that Indonesia as the country with population of 250 mln people has huge potential. 

Rustam Minnikhanov said that after Russia had joined the WTO new cooperation opportunities opened for Russia and Indonesia. He also told about products manufactured in Tatarstan. 

Rustam Minnikhanov continued that rubber and engineering products, plastics were supplied from the republic to Indonesia at different times. However, sales volume is rather small, he said. 

Rustam Minnikhanov also focused on prospects of Tatarstan tourist industry that may attract Indonesian partners and added that Tatarstan can offer favourable conditions for major foreign investors at special economic zones “Alabuga” and “Innopolis”.


First Vice-Minister of Industry and Trade Ruslan Kabirov made a detailed presentation of Tatarstan economy. Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov told about investment opportunities the republic offered to foreign investors.
