Major Tatarstan innovation projects presented to Russian Deputy Minister of Finance

On August 5 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting on implementation of Innopolis, Kama innovation cluster and regional engineering centers projects. 

Russian Deputy Minister of Finance Andrey Ivanov took part in the meeting. 

At the beginning of the meeting Andrey Ivanov noted that for the federal center Tatarstan is not only the key region in the state innovation policy but a model platform featuring almost all forms of government support of the innovation policy. 

“We should think about creation of a center in Tatarstan Republic, where you could share your experience in government support of the innovation policy,” Andrey Ivanov addressed Tatarstan President.

Tatarstan Minister of Information and Communication Roman Shaikhutdinov told about implementation of the Innopolis project, development of this special economic zone, establishment of the University and city infrastructure.

Rustam Minnikhanov said that it is necessary to study the international practices when creating new cities, as well as financing experience. Andrey Invanov, in his turn, emphasized that the country leadership is confident in Innopolis project realization. “We are sure that Tatarstan is capable of making the next step in IT industry development,” Deputy Minister said. 

Director General of OAO “Tatneftekhiminvest-holding” Rafinat Yarullin told about Kama industrial cluster project. 

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that a number of major projects are currently under implementation on the territory of the future cluster, such as “TAIF-NK”, “Nizhnekamskneftekhim”, “TANECO”. 

The total cost of the cluster innovation projects makes 500 bln roubles, the cost of infrastructure projects is 250 bln roubles. By 2020 the output of industrial products of Kama industrial cluster is expected to increase three times. 

The most important infrastructure projects of the Kama innovation cluster were presented to Russian Deputy Minister of Finance. 

The project of complex regional automotive engineering center was also presented to Andrey Ivanov. The project presupposes building and equipping of laboratories and the ground for testing vehicles. The total cost of the center, which will cover the area of 136 hectares, will make 15.4 bln roubles, the construction will take about 4 years. 

Andrey Ivanov asked to prepare a detailed structure of potential investments on the part of automotive companies and profit of the engineering center for the Russian Ministry of Finance as soon as possible.
