Tatarstan President: "Orthodoxy in our country occupies a special place"

Orthodox par with Islam occupies a special place in the life of Tatarstan society. This was stated by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov at the opening session of the Orthodox community . The forum in Kazan was also attended by Chairman of the State Council Farid Mukhametshin , Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic Yuri Kamaltynov, Metropolitan  of Kazan and Tatarstan Anastasius , chairman of the Synodal Department of the Russian Orthodox Church, Vsevolod Chaplin , representatives of the authorities of the republic , the local government , the clergy .
