Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan is interested in cooperation with Turkish companies in medicine and light industry

On October 15, during his working visit to the province of Kocaeli (Turkey) Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met founder of the group of companies, AYDIN ORME, Turgut Aydin.

"Turgut Aydin Holding (TA Holding) includes a supermarket chain, textile factories and 11 medical centers of the Memorial company.

Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan is interested in cooperation with these companies, including in the field of medicine and light industry.

"Medicine, as one of the key sectors of the service industry, has always been in the area of our attention. Ultimately, the healthier a nation is, the better chances of successful development of the economy are. We will be glad if you contribute to modernization of health sector in our republic," Tatarstan President said.

The Memorial company, being a part of Aydin holding, is negotiating with Tatarstan Ministry of Health Care on implementation of joint projects in medicine.

Regarding the textile industry, to date, AYDIN ORME products are manufactured and sold worldwide under the brand names of Lila and Perfiore. Representative offices are operating in Belgium (Lila Deco), the Netherlands (Lila BV), in Russia (Moscow and St. Petersburg), and in Ukraine, where Lila products are known for quality and constant demand.

In total, 3,500 tonnes of yarn, 28.5 million square meters of tulle, 18 million square meters of single-color and jacquard curtains, 15 million square meters of elastic lace and 3.2 million square meters of jersey are manufactured per year. Since 2006, an average of 75 percent of production is exported. The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce considers AYDIN ORME is among the 300 largest Turkish industrial companies.

Tatarstan President expressed his hope for the revival of the sector.

"Unfortunately, in recent years we have practically lost many of our tailoring enterprise. We will be glad to see you as an investor," Minnikhanov said, addressing the representatives of AYDIN ORME.
