Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers and Gazprom Gazomotornoe Toplivo sign agreement

4 March 2016, Friday

On March 4, Tatarstan Minister of Economy Artem Zdunov and Director General of Gazprom Gazomotornoe Toplivo Mikhail Likhachev told journalists that Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers and Gazprom Gazomotornoe Toplivo  signed an agreement on the implementation of incentive programmes to develop natural gas motor fuel market.

"We have been cooperating with Gazprom Gazomotornoe Toplivo since 2015. Besides buying equipment, transferring vehicles to natural gas, we also had the task of solving environmental problems, obtaining economic benefits from using converted equipment. Today's agreement contributes to transferring vehicles to gas fuel. Tatarstan Government will send funds to subsidize costs for equipment transition, while Gazprom will direct funds for obtaining beneficial loans for renovations. The company will issue individual fuel cards for the purchase of 1,500 cubic meters of fuel to encourage conversion and make it more quickly," Zdunov said.

Likhachev noted his company’s incentives for transferring to gas fuel which are actively applied all over the country. He continued that today’s agreement when regional authorities begin subsidizing the programmes is something new for the country.

Zdunov added that Tatarstan will allocate 75 million roubles this year. The republic intends to cover from 15 to 30 per cent of costs, depending on the type of equipment. Gazprom Gazomotornoe Toplivo will send 300 million roubles, depending on number of conversed equipment.
