On May 13, at Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov held a meeting on the development of insurance market in Tatarstan with participation of management of large insurance companies.
Before that Khalikov and Director of Insurance Market Department of the Bank of Russia Igor Zhuk had exchanged their opinions about prospects of the development of the insurance sector in the republic and regulatory activities in this field.
Welcoming the meeting, Khalikov noted that the development of insurance services, in particular motor third-party liability insurance, is the matter of federal significance.
“I hope that today’s meeting will contribute not only to making progress in this matter, but to finding a mutually acceptable solution or road map following which we will be able to find the right balance between a regulator, insurance organizations and population together with our lawmakers,” he said.
Speaking at the meeting, Igor Zhuk touched upon the issue related to the availability of MTPL insurance policies. He stressed that some regions of Russia are facing this problem. According to him, Tatarstan is not among them, however some cases have been also found out.
