Rustam Minnikhanov holds meeting of Regional Organizing Committee “Russia-2018”

On November 4, at Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting of the Regional Organizing Committee “Russia-2018”.

Opening the meeting, Minnikhanov reminded the draw for the FIFA Confederations Cup is scheduled to take place on November 26 in Kazan. He pointed out that the FIFA Confederations Cup is a very important event and should be organized and held at a high level. Minnikhanov reminded that at the previous meeting of the organizing committee "Russia 2018" Vitaly Mutko gave some errands concerning safety measures, logistics, transport services, catering, as well as the preparation of sports facilities for the holding of the Confederations Cup 2017.

The Kazan Arena Stadium was chosen the main venue to host the event. Rustam Minnikhanov said that all preparatory works should be carried out timely and in accordance with the FIFA requirements.

Director of the Organizing Committee “Russia-2018” made a keynote at the meeting. He, in particular, reminded that 225 days are left to the start of the event. 

The meeting also discussed issues related to the financing of some events during the preparation for matches, security issues and others.
