The federal budget surplus in January-August amounted to 2% of GDP, according to Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, speaking Thursday at a government meeting. According to him, the first half of the budget surplus was 2.2% of GDP. Earlier, the Ministry of Finance previously estimated surplus for the first half of 1.9% of GDP (649.3 billion rubles).

The Russian Finance Ministry expects to end the year to fulfill the plan for domestic borrowing and attract 230 billion rubles, said on Thursday, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, speaking at a meeting of the government.
