“Tatarstan and East Kazakhstan Oblast have potential for cooperation in many areas,” the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said at the business forum with participation of Tatarstan and East Kazakhstan businessmen.
The forum was held at the Kazan IT-park with participation of akim of the East Kazakhstan Oblast Berdybek Saparbaev, Vice-premier and Minister of industry and trade Ravil Zaripov, members of delegation of the East Kazakhstan Oblast, Tatarstan businessmen.
Before the forum Rustam Minnikhanov told Berdybek Saparbaev about the Kazan IT-park, the second IT-park in Naberezhnye Chelny, business incubator, Higher school of information systems and technologies of the Kazan Federal University, and IT lyceum.
The Tatarstan President thanked akim of the East Kazakhstan Oblast Berdybek Saparbaev for the visit.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, many Tatarstan enterprises (KAMAZ, Tatneft, Kazan helicopter plant, Nizhnekamskneftehkim), are successfully functioning at the Kazakhstan market.
Tatarstan representation has been working in Kazakhstan since 1997. Consulate General and trade office of Kazakhstan opened this year.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that East Kazakhstan Oblast was rich in natural resources and industrial enterprises.
He expressed hope that during the forum Tatarstan and Kazakhstan businessmen would establish new contacts and make arrangements about mutually beneficial projects.
Akim of the East Kazakhstan Oblast Berdybek Saparbaev thanked Tatarstan leadership and personally Rustam Minnikhanov for the invitation to visit republic and hearty reception in Kazan.
“Various areas are developing in our region and we have come to get familiar with your experience. We are especially interested in development of information technologies, engineering and agriculture,” Berdybek Saparbaev said.
Vice-premier and Minister of industry and trade Ravil Zaripov presented Tatarstan’s economic potential to the Kazakhstan delegation. He told about main industries and investment opportunities.

Ildar Khalikov offered specialists of the company to visit Trans-Kama zone where 80 % of republic’s economic potential are concentrated.

Aide to the Tatarstan President on international issues Radik Gimatdinov, Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Vasil Shaikhraziev, Director General of SEZ Alabuga Timur Shagivaleev and Director General of ZAO “Gasprom mezhregiongas Kazan” Rinat Khanbikov participated in the meeting at the RT Government House.
OOO “Kastamonu Integrated Wood Industry” is a subsidiary of the Turkish company Kastamonu Entegre. The company is building a plant for producing MDF panels with a capacity of 380 thousand tons per year on the territory of SEZ Alabuga. The production is to be launched in the second half of 2013.
At today’s meeting Rustam Minnikhanov and Onur Guven discussed the process of plant construction.

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Lithuanian Ambassador to Russia Renatas Norkus have discussed the increase of trade turnover and mutually beneficial cooperation between Tatarstan and Lithuanian Republic. The meeting was held at the Kazan Kremlin.
To the point, the delegation of Lithuanian Republic led by Renatas Norkus is staying in Kazan with a working visit on November 21-22.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that Lithuania and Tatarstan had mutual interests in trade sphere. He told about social and economic situation in republic, realization of major projects such as OAO TANECO, construction of the innovative satellite city “Innopolis”, modernization of the international airport “Kazan” within the framework of preparation for Universiade 2013.
Rustam Minnikhanov also said that Tatarstan and Lithuania should increase trade turnover.
The Tatarstan President positively estimated cooperation between holding company “Ak Bars” and Lithuanian company dealing with training of pilots for the civil aviation.
Lithuanian Ambassador to Russia Renatas Norkus said that he was willing to visit Tatarstan, one of the most intensively developing regions in Russia. He introduced his colleagues and noted that the delegation also consisted of Lithuanian businessmen.
Renatas Norkus noted that quite good results were observed in the sphere of trade turnover between Russia and Lithuania. He also supposed that industry, engineering, agriculture, tourism and logistics may be spheres of concern for realization of joint projects.
He suggested considering opportunities of the trading port in Klaipeda taking into account that the transport corridor “Western Europe – Western China” would pass though the Tatarstan territory.
Renatas Norkus informed that OJSC KAMAZ had made the decision to launch their production in Lithuania. He also said that the Tatar diaspora in Lithuania numbers about 3 thousand people.

The owner of Eastern Beverage Company S.A. Neil Smith and Head of the Tatarstan Government Ildar Khalikov discussed further activity in the context of joint investment projects.
To the point, Neil Smith and representatives of Eastern Beverage Company S.A. have visited Tatarstan before. Tatarstan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry has established itself as an important economic structure, the Tatarstan PM Ildar Khalikov said at an extended session of Administrative Council and Department of Tatarstan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry dated to its 20th anniversary. President of Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergei Katyrin, Board Chairman of Tatarstan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shamil Ageev participated in the session.
Head of the Tatarstan Government congratulated people who were among originators of Tatarstan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He supposes that today authorities use all opportunities offered by Tatarstan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry in full.
Chamber of Commerce and Industry is an efficient tool of interaction with entrepreneurs as it deals with agro-industrial complex, housing and communal services and other spheres.
The Tatarstan PM noted that the international cooperation was one more field of concern. He mentioned that close contacts had been established with foreign partners within the framework of Tatarstan-Luxembourg business forum, Tatarstan-Finland business forum and other important events.
“As for Russia’s joining the WTO and new conditions for entrepreneurs, we should try to benefit from the situation instead of seeing negative effects. We should not think that Russia’s joining the WTO will not have any impact on entrepreneurs, especially on agricultural producers. We should work over this issue and set questions before the federal government,” Ildar Khalikov said.
The PM said that he had no doubts that Tatarstan would be able to keep up the pace and even increase it.
