On May 13, at their meeting at the residence of the Austrian President “Hofburg”, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and President of Austria Heinz Fischer discussed issues related to further cooperation.

Minnihanov thanked Fischer for the opportunity to discuss issues of cooperation and further development of relations. Minnikhanov briefed about events he took part within the framework of his visit to Vienna (May 12-13, 2016).

On May 13, at Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov held a meeting on the development of insurance market in Tatarstan with participation of management of large insurance companies.

Before that Khalikov and Director of Insurance Market Department of the Bank of Russia Igor Zhuk had exchanged their opinions about prospects of the development of the insurance sector in the republic and regulatory activities in this field.

On May 12, at Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan Prime Minister IldarKhalikov held a meeting of the organizing committee on preparation and holding of a meeting of the Russia – Islamic World Strategic vision group.

Khalikov reminded that in June 2014 Russian President Vladimir Putin authorized Rustam Minnikhanov to head the Russia - Islamic world Strategic Vision Group to resume its activities. One year later, in June 2015, Moscow hosted a meeting of the Group chaired by Tatarstan President in the updated format. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Madani, government and religious leaders of the Islamic countries took part in the meeting.

On May 10, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman in Prague (Pražský hrad).

They discussed issues of further cooperation and implementation of joint projects.

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Mr. Miloš Zeman for his interest in Tatarstan as one of dynamically developing Russian regions. He noted that current political and economic situation has an impact on bilateral trade and economic relations.  It is important to support economic cooperation, increase foreign trade turnover, and strengthen relations in the sphere of culture, science, education and tourism.

On May 4, during his working visit to Kazan, the Communist Party Secretary of the Sichuan Province Wang Dongming took part in Tatarstan- Sichuan business forum at Korston hotel.

The Prime Minister of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov thanked leadership of China and Sichuan Province for attention paid to the development of bilateral cooperation with Tatarstan in the context of rapidly developing Russia-China relations. He noted that the delegations of Tatarstan and Sichuan have met seven times for the last nine months, which shows high level of trust and cooperation between the regions.

On May 5, at their meeting at Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov and Chairman of the Russian Union of Youth Pavel Krasnorutsky discussed issues related to holding the Russian Student Spring-2016 festival’s final.

The event will be held between May 15-20 in Kazan, with about 3,000 students from 71 Russian regions taking part in it.

Minister of Youth Affairs and Sport of the republic Vladimir Leonov and Head of the Department for healthcare, sport and healthy lifestyle of the Cabinet of Ministers’ Office of the republic Gouzel Shakirova took part in the meeting.  

On May 3, at their meeting in Dubai (the UAE), Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and the Emaar Properties management discussed different options to invest in Tatarstan projects, in particular, in the construction of commercial and residential real estate.

On May 3, at Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov held a regular Board meeting of the Grid Company.

The meeting reviewed issues related to improving the reliability of power supply to consumers, the results of production and financial and economic activities, the implementation of the capital construction plan of the company in 2015, pre-approved company's annual report, as well as made decisions related to  holding an annual general shareholders' meeting.

On May 2, during his working visit to Dubai, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with representatives of business community of the United Arab Emirates.  

The Finance Ministry expects that in the second half of the year will earn Russia's rating system, which will facilitate the process of placing public funds at banks.

"We have prepared a offers - they are in the government - on the order of placement of funds of state companies and companies with state participation in bank deposits ... We are increasing the number of banks, which could receive public resources.
