On May 30, in Moscow, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a meeting of the Scientific Advisory Council under the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on economic, budgetary, financial and tax bases of federalism.

The meeting discussed topical issues in the sphere of federative relations. In particular, inventory of powers and financial resources for their implementation at all levels of government, establishment of a single registry of powers for federal and local bodies, as well as development of a concept to improve inter-budget relations until 2020.

On May 26, at Tatarstan Governemnt House, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khhalikov chaired a regular board meeting of the Generation Company.

The meeting discussed the financial and economic activity of the company in the first quarter of this year.  

The proceeds of the comany for the first three months amounted to 11 billion 516 million roubles, which is eight per cent higher than last year and 2 per cent below the planned value.

Khalikov again drew attention to the need to changes methods of elimination of consumer debts to the company, and also appreciated financial indicators in the first quarter, noting the need to keep same pace in the future. 

On May 26, a meeting of the Executive Bureau of the International Organization “The United Cities and Local Governments” held at the Kazan Fair.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Chairman of Tatarstan State Council and Chairman of the Current Affairs Committee of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe Farid Mukhametshin, Mayor of Kazan and Co-President of “The United Cities and Local Governments” Ilsur Metshin, and other officials took part in the event.

On May 26, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a plenary session of the tenth national conference, IT & Security Forum 2016.

In his welcoming remarks, Minnikhanov noted that over the past ten years the forum have been gathering the industry leaders.  

Minnikhanov noted that today Tatarstan is one of the leading Russian regions in the development of major infrastructure projects, particularly in the sphere of IT, introduction and development of communication systems, providing public electronic services. He added that information technology is widely used everywhere: in education, health care, construction, housing and utilities services, by state and municipal authorities.

“Tatarstan aims at providing the most favorable conditions for the development of IT projects,” Minnikhanov said.  

On May 25, during his working trip to Moscow, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a session of the Economic council dedicated to drivers of economic growth in 2025 perspective.  The session was held by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Opening the session, Putin said that the main task is to discuss key objectives of economic growth and development of social sphere. He reminded that the execution of May orders had been discussed before.

Putin suggested discussing issues of health care, education, housing and utilities sector.

On May 23, at their meeting at Tatarstan Governemnt House, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and First Vice-President of Transneft oil pipeline company Maksim Grishanin discussed issues related to further mutually beneficial cooperation.

Minnikhanov noted that Transneft company is a long-standing strategic partner of the republic.

On May 21, during “Izge Bolgar Zhyeny” holiday dedicated to the Day of official adoption of Islam in Volga Bulgaria, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov laid a commemorative capsule at Bolgar Islamic Academy.

State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Head of the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs Igor Barinov,  and other officials took part in the event.

The message in the capsule is written in four languages: Russian, Tatar, English and Arabic, and addresses the descendants with the request to keep the spirituality and values of Islam: peace, tolerance, and respect.  

On May 20, speaking at a plenary session of the 8th International Economic Forum “Russia – the Isamic World: KazanSummit 2016” said that the forum is the leading platform for the development of economic cooperation between Russia and its regions with Muslim states.

The theme of the plenary session is “New Architecture of the world economy: prospects of the OIC Financial industry in the Russian Federation ".

The KazanSummit is being held  at the Korston Hotel and Entertainment Complexin Kazan on May 19-20, 2016 .  According to organizers, representatives from more than 50 countries are taking part in the event. 

On May 19, at his meeting with trade union activists of the republic,  Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov said that the state of the market of agricultural products and foodstuff is monitored in the republic.

"The prices for basic foodstuff are under strict control in the republic," he said.

“We can see that inflation has slowed down. In April of the current year the rise in prices amounted to 102.1 per cent to the level in December last year," Khalikov went on to say.

On May 18, at Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers Prime Minister of the republic Ildar Khalikov held a meeting on cooperation with Aeroflot.

Mass media agencies informed before that Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov addressed Aeroflot management with request to open direct flights from Kazan to one of Europe’s biggest airports in Frankfurt. For a short time the company has made a decision and launches direct flights on June 17.

As Ildar Khalikov said this event is important for regional transport industry and economic development, for businessmen, oil industry workers, and representatives of engineering and aviation industries.
