On February 17, at a session of Tatarstan Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the minister Marat Akhmetov said that the upcoming sowing campaign would require high organizational skills from agricultural producers.

On February 16, during his working trip to the Nizhnekamsk region, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a summary session of the local council.

Head of the region Aidar Metshin, who made a keynote report, informed that almost all planned economic indexes were reached and all social obligations were fulfilled.

The region produced 23 per cent of industrial output of the republic, the industrial production index made 102.3 per cent. As for attraction of investments, the region was ranked second among other municipalities of Tatarstan.

On February 11, Prime Minister of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov held a session of the Board of Trustees of Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan on the current activity of the fund.

Members of the Board of Trustees approved financial plan of the organization for 2016 and discussed its work with OAO “Technopolis Himgrad”, “Vasilievsky Glass Plant”, and Closed Joint-Stock Company “Innovation and Production Technopark “Idea”.

On February 9, at a summary session of Tatarstan Ministry of Information and Communications in Innopolis, the Republic of Tatarstan, President of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov said that development of Innopolis, the future IT capital of Russia, is the main task of regional industry of information and communications.

Before the session Rustam Minnikhanov looked around the exhibition of latest digital solutions.

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan has made changes in the forecast plan of privatization of government-owned property of the Republic of Tatarstan for 2016, and included the shares of PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim, PJSC Tatneft and JSC TANECO.

Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov signed the relevant order on February 2, 2016. The decision is based on the need for more effective use of the existing resources. The shares will be transferred to the Ministry of Land and Property.

On February 8, at a joint session of Tatarstan Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Industry and Trade, President of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov said that the region can increase the volume of industrial production three times within six-seven years.

Speaking about the key tasks set before the regional industry, the President noted leading Ammoni complex to the full capacity, construction of ethylene production complex in Nizhnekamsk, and reconstruction of Zainsk state district power station.

On February 8, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov held a meeting on preparation for European Judo Championship in Kazan (April 20-24, 2016).

Ildar Khalikov noted that this is a big international event and the republic has experience in holding such sport events, and added that a 20-year-old student of Olimpiisky sports school (Naberezhnye Chelny) Niyaz Bilalov, a multiple winner of different tournaments will be on the Russian team.

On February 5, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in presidium session of Russian Presidential Council for economic modernization and innovative development held by Chairman of Russian Government Dmitry Medvedev in Moscow. The session was dedicated to the creation of new institute - the Agency for technological development.

The platform was developed by IVF RT, the Fund for the Promotion of the Development of Small Forms of Enterprises in the Scientific and Technical Sphere, Russian Venture Company by the order of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov that he gave during the 15th and 10th Kazan venture fairs in 2015. The new platform will start functioning in 2016. The accelerator programme for innovative companies will be one of the main functions of the platform.
