On November 5, at a regional meeting held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic – Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov reported on economic results of the agricultural industry for nine months of the current year.
The minister reported that the gross agricultural output made 184.2 bln roubles, the index of production - 106.5 per cent. In total, the gross agricultural output is expected to make 235.2 bln roubles. This result will be achieved by increasing grain harvesting by 1.3 times, sugar beet –114 per cent, meat production – 3.7 per cent, and milk production – 1.3 per cent.
On November 4, at Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting of the Regional Organizing Committee “Russia-2018”.
Opening the meeting, Minnikhanov reminded the draw for the FIFA Confederations Cup is scheduled to take place on November 26 in Kazan. He pointed out that the FIFA Confederations Cup is a very important event and should be organized and held at a high level. Minnikhanov reminded that at the previous meeting of the organizing committee "Russia 2018" Vitaly Mutko gave some errands concerning safety measures, logistics, transport services, catering, as well as the preparation of sports facilities for the holding of the Confederations Cup 2017.
On October 10, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived on a working visit to Turkmenistan, was met by Ambassador of Russia to Turkmenistan Aleksandr Blokhin and Chairman of Turkmenistan Committee for Sport Toyly Kamekov at the Ashkhabad International Airport.
On October 5, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov arrived on a two-day working visit to Riga (the Republic of Latvia).
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who is taking part in Science and Technology in Society forum in Japan with the official Russian delegation, invited founder and chairman of the forum Mr Koji Omi to Tatarstan.
On September 29, at Korston hotel in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated agricultural producers and workers on the Day of agriculture and processing industry.
Best workers of agricultural, food and processing industries were honoured at the event.
“Your work is very important because it is the foundation of regional economy,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. He expressed his gratitude to villagers for their work and responsibility. He also noted that agricultural producers can celebrate another holiday, - the Minister of Agriculture Marat Akhmetov remained at his post having refused from deputy’s seat at “United Russia” party.
State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, heads of regional ministries and agencies took part in the event.
A festive concert with participation of Tatarstan artists was organized for agricultural workers.
On September 24, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov arrived on a working visit to Sakhalin region to sign an Agreement between Tatarstan and Sakhalin region on trade-economic, scientific-technical, social and cultural cooperation in 2016-2018.
Minnikhanov will also have a meeting with Governor of Sakhalin region Oleg Kozhemyako and hold a number of other talks.
Besides, a meeting with leaders and activists of Tatar public organizations of Sakhalin region is scheduled.
On September 23, at a session of region Cabinet of Ministers chaired by Acting Prime Minister Aleksei Pesoshin, Deputy Minister of economy of the republic Oleg Pelevin informed that the forecasted volume of Gross Regional Product is 1 trillion and 929 bln roubles. The growth of 103,1-104,2 per cent is expected in 2017-2019.
According to results of the current year, the industrial production index is expected to be 103,2 per cent, the volume of shipped products – 1 trillion and 931 bln roubles.
On September 22, at Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov had a meeting with representatives of Mitsubishi Heavt Industries (Japan).
Welcoming the guests in Kazan, Khalikov noted that Tatarstan is actively cooperating with the Japanese business. A lot of Japanese companies are represented and successfully developing in the republic, he said.
Khalikov reminded that on August 8 the Tatarstan-Japan business forum with the participation of Special Advisor to Prime Minister of Japan Eiichi Hasegawa was held in Kazan. This week the 6th Russia-Japan AdvisoryCouncilon Modernization of the Russian Economy, which discussed prospects of cooperation, took place in the capital of Tatarstan.
On September 21, at their meeting at the Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Russian Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities Andrey Chibis discussed cooperation in the sphere of development of urban environment.
Andrey Chibis will take part in a meeting on the implementation of programmes “Parks and squares” and “Water conservation areas”.
